the second of the four costumes i wore to fanime 2006!
i've always wanted to cosplay invader zim, but it's just so hard to because the characters are so... boxy. most of the invader zim cosplays i've seen even try to keep the boxyness by literally making their costumes out of cardboard. o_O;; it just doesn't work!! although i originally wanted us to cosplay zim and gir, dib and gaz were just easier to pull off. that, and *finni just makes the best, most in-character gaz ever. xDD;;; it's too bad we couldn't have gotten a better shot of my wig from the side. >_o;; i actually have the pointy hair thing sewn to it, (made out of an antennae cut off from my giant, ugly zim plushie no less!). like with my uchiha itachi cosplay, the unhappy face on the shirt was painted on with acrylic paint, since white fabric paint just absorbed into the fabric no matter how many layers i put on it. i made finni's skull necklace out of a piece of cardboard cut out from the back of one of my old sketchpads. a little paint, some gloss finish, a leather strap, and wah-lah! gaz's necklace  and of course, we weren't complete without a gir hostage~all invader zim related stuffs © nickelodeon/jhonen vasquez cosplay by *finni and zimmay |

actually, we live in central california, but it still gets pretty hot here. i was hotter in my itachi cosplay, since i was outside in the sun for two hours. i stayed inside the nice, air-conditioned convention center most of the time in this outfit.
